Summer- time for swimming, boating, beach walking, patio dancing and all types of outdoor fun! It’s also time for bathing suits. If you’re like me, you have an annual ritual that involves buying a new suit, or three. If you are going on a vacation you will certainly need more suits than that. I suggest a suit in every style – why not?
What swimwear styles are in this year? Well, you are lucky, because just about anything goes this season, but we’ll take a look at the top five swimwear styles for Summer 2013.
Retro Swimwear – Every year at least one fashion item is defined as ‘retro’. This year the 60s are back for clothing, but the 40s are back for swimsuits. Those were the days of Hollywood glamour, where a little skin sent the imagination wild; when a woman knew how to reveal just enough to tantalize their men. Check out this one piece cut out suit from Betsy Johnson in a very retro orange plaid. Can you say hot?
Monokinis – these suits were hot in the 60s, and they are hotter now. Do you dare to wear this vintage swimwear hybrid of a one piece and a bikini? Incorporate the latest colors and geometric prints; add a matching hat and chunky earrings and you are rocking the beach. Check out Elite Fashions Swimwear for their latest styles.
Bikinis – shimmy in fringe and you’re a goddess on the beach. Fringe on the top or bottom (or both!) is a great look this year. Try one of the bold colors of 2013 and all eyes will be on you.
Techie Suits – While this type of suit has been in style (and a blessing) for several years now –familiar through the brand Miraclesuit – more styles and fabrics have been incorporated into a wider selection than ever before. Technology has evolved to create more comfortable suits with the ability to remove inches from your bust, waist, and hips. These one piece suits really do slim you by tucking everything in with very strong spandex material.
Are you a bit modest? Why not try a gorgeous swim tunic? That’s right, cover up top to bottom with a tunic top and a skirt like bottom. You are in high style while maintaining your modesty (and not worrying about anything extra showing!) The Land’s End Swimwear line offers a great selection of tunic and techie suits – everything you need all in one place. Plus, you can save big with Land’s End coupons
Nearly Naked – are you bold enough to bare? Try a thong. With just enough fabric to prevent an arrest, thongs are best suited for those with tight buttocks and slim waists. The tops are two tiny triangles of fabric held together with the briefest of ties. Are you brave? You will certainly get noticed!
Once you have the suit or suits that make you queen of the beach, make sure you also add a sexy sarong or cover up, a large hat, sunglasses, a statement bag and of course, sunscreen. You are ready!
